WAW#203

Word Art Wednesday #203

Lovely verse and a lovely card. I used my go-to favorite color. Pink. Blushing Bride to be exact.

Here is the verse this week:

I was having trouble with inspiration for my English Garden Designer Series Paper. So, I pretty much cased a card I found on Pinterest made by Paula Dobson. While I used her version for inspiration I ended up putting a few changes on mine. Two similar versions of the same card because after printing the verse, I was required to use different framelits so I wouldn't waste them.

This week's card for WAW brought three product based revelations for me. First let's take a close up look.
My three newest Stampin' UP! Product loves are:
  • Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
  • Garden in Bloom Photopolymer stamp Set
Basic Black Archival:I almost didn't order the newest Black Stamp Pad. I mean really, I have retired black pads, Memento Tuxedo Black , Stazon Black...why another one? Could it possible beat my Memento Pad? I have been stunned at how nicely the new Archival Basic Black stamps. Crisp clear and waterproof! Give it a try..I don't think you will be disappointed. I still need my Memento for Alcohol Markers but I will be using the new Basic Black from Stampin' Up as my regular.

Whisper White Thick Cardstock:  I was excited to see this addition in the newest Idea Book and Catalog. What a difference it makes in the feel of quality for your handmade cards. It brings a high quality feel to any project. It will be hard to not make this the card base of every creation.

Garden in Bloom Photopolymer stamp set: This set may be my new favorite. Ease of lining up and multiple design possibilities make it a winner. I first stamped the outline in my Basic Black Archival pad. Next, I inked the solid petal image in the Blushing Bride ink. Before stamping, I used a sponge dauber to pick up some Melon Mambo ink and dabbed a bit into the center. I think this made a huge difference dimension of the flower-and so easy! I used the same technique with the leaves using pear pizazz and Mossy Meadow.

Finally, here is my Deco Label version. Dan and I determined this one to have a more pleasing layout. Do you agree?

I hope you give  Word Art Wednesday a try. It is a lot of fun to participate!

  1. Oh, Marette, I love both of these cards, but I'm with you and Dan and like the second one better. It seems the verse is showcased more beautifully with the flowers. I just got this set and love how you've used it. And I love the colors you've used to and will definitely pin this after typing the comment. This is a precious Scripture verse and one that I may have to use for a friend who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Hugs!
