Welcome to Crush on Stampin'

Welcome to my first post! I thought I would start by telling you a little about myself and this blog. My name is Marette (pronounced Merit) and I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 15 years. I enjoy paper crafting while using quality products. Stampin' UP! has given me the tools and opportunity for many things. One of the most important opportunities to me has been meeting new people and teaching them how to create something that gives them a sense of pride and self accomplishment. It is a joy to see their excitement and enthusiasm when creating a card that they can give to a loved one.

I currently live in Sugar Grove Illinois with my thoughtful husband Dan. We were married last summer and are still enjoying being newlyweds. We have four furry feline children : Crush, Blitz, Bling and Pickles. Dan was a dog lover only but he converted for me. Someday we hope to have a Great Dane but it seems a little to much to throw on our aging kitties right now.

Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to be a teacher. I attended Kansas State University and got a degree in Psychology. I had planned to go on and get a masters and PHD so that I could be a professor at a University and also do research projects. However that plan changed after moving to Indianapolis and getting married in 1996. While the decisions I made during that time in my life changed my career plan I had never lost the desire to teach. When I was introduced to Stampin' UP! in 1999, I was able to realize the dream of being a teacher via this delightful hobby. I love to  hold classes and workshops and encourage everyone to try rubber stamping even if you aren't "crafty". You might just surprise yourself how it brings out the art in your heart!

I am a huge cat lover in addition to be a paper crafter. My blog is named after my Birman Cat named Crush. He has quite the personality and has developed a following from my stampers. He has supervised many projects and classes from any box or bucket that I can grab for him to sit in. The smaller the better. The following picture partially inspired my blog header.

I plan to use this blog to share paper crafting projects and more than likely a healthy dose of Crush's antics. I hope you will join me.
