Time for another Sketch challenge from Mojo Monday. The layout really appealed to me this week. I wanted to do some type of embellishment OTHER than a butterfly or flower. I flipped through my framelits and found the retired Cannery Framelit Set. I thought the corn was fun and would go perfect with one of my new favorite Designer Series Papers this year... Farmers Market.
Here's the sketch. How did I do? The angle on the card was easy do. I made a straight strip of paper but made sure it was about 3/4 inch wider than my card width. This gave me room to angle it nicely and then cut off the excess. The purple pattern behind it is a rectangle so no figuring angles there either!

Here's a close up of my paper corn. My matching stamp set is still in storage :( and I am not able to get to it easily. No matter. I cut the framelit shape out twice (one in Old Olive and one in Hello Honey) and layered them on top of each other. I like my top version of corn better than the bottom. I used a Stampin' Write Marker in the matching Hello Honey shade. Stampin' UP! makes it so easy to bring a project together.
Sweet Corn is going to be finally in and my husband and I just love it. It was fun to discover a little stand that opens in the summer very close to our house. There are many fields growing corn near us to. I am not sure if it is sweet corn or regular field corn. The stand had wonderful sweet corn though!
One final picture... I had a card class on Thursday and I showed how to make a framelit lion card out of the Floral Framelits. I organized the table the night before, and of course, Crush had to supervise to make sure things were to his standard. I think he was a little disappointed the ladies didn't come Wed. but he sat in his box during class like an angel on Thursday.
How fun! Love that little ear of corn. Thanks for playing along with Mojo Monday!
