Mojo Monday 404 Get Well Card

This week I needed to send out a couple Get Well cards. I grew up in Kansas so when I need comfort, home often comes to mind. The state flower of Kansas is the Sunflower, so this seemed an appropriate starting point for my cards.

My card was designed using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (Mojo404). It's a tall and skinny challenge and my card measures 3 1/2 x 6 and fits in the size envelope you most likely mail your personal checks in.

  • It was fun to use a different size card for a change. I think my recipients will be delighted to get something a little out of the ordinary.
  • I love the ease of stamping and using a coordinating punch. So quick and provides professional result. The Beautiful Bunch Stamp set and Fun Flower Punch get the job done.
  • I used Hello Honey ink on the Daffodil Delight card stock to bring in a richer feel to the petals. It seems to lean toward the brown color family when combined this way providing more depth.
  • Using Stampin' Dimensional's between each of the 4 layers of the sunflower really brings the flower to life.
  • The patterns in the new Designer Series Paper Stacks are definitely on trend. I love Polka dots and the words sheet like the one below were a much needed update to our stacks.

I chose to mix up the same papers and layers for a different effect on a second card.

My philosophy is that it takes just as much time to make two of the same card as it does one- Basically : Work smarter rather than harder!

Please leave me a comment and tell me which card you prefer. My husband and I chose different versions so I am curious as to your thoughts!
